What Happens at Christmas is a wonderful festive read for the winter months.
Although there are sad undertones, this book has an overall positive and uplifting feel to it.
I’m such a softie when it comes to dogs, and I have to say, my heart melted when I read the following:
“He had somehow found an old jumper belonging to her dad and had rolled himself into it. He was lying on it, his head on his paws, a woollen sleeve across his front legs, his eyes staring mournfully up at her.”
This is full of romance, friendship, sad and touching moments relating to the past, a lovely close-knit community setting, a cute dog and some festive cheer.
I recommend this to fans of romance and Christmas stories.
