Any Clive Barker fans out there?

Here is my collection of Clive Barker books. I do have a hardback copy of Mister B. Gone somewhere, but rather ironically, it seems to have gone missing?!

Clive Barker is my favourite author because he's been taking my mind to places I didn't think possible, since I was 10 years old. I went to my friend’s house for a video night to celebrate her 11th birthday, and we all ended up watching her Dad’s VHS copy of Hellraiser. By the end of the night there was a room full of traumatised little girls hiding behind cushions and squealing. I actually had to sleep with the light on that night. Something I’ve never had to do since, thankfully!

Despite it terrifying me as a child, I can't seem to get enough of the many Hellraiser films (some are better than others). I blame Pinhead. There is something both terrifying, yet attractive about him. He scares the living daylights out of me, yet, if he appeared in front of me, I'd probably offer to shake his hand, rather than running away if Freddy krueger appeared. Strange, isn't it, or is it just me that’s strange?

As I’ve just filled my new blog with Clive Barker book reviews, I thought this was the best time to ask if any of you like Clive Barker too.

If so, what are your favourite books and why?

Any books you really didn’t enjoy?

What do you think of his various films?
